Up until this point, VMKMagic has always designed the graphics for the site. Now that all changes! VMKMagic is seeking graphics artists on VMKMagic to help create some new graphics. Interested in helping out? Read on!
Have you ever gone on a search for a nice avatar, but just couldn't find one? Our forum has a feature which allows us to display a set of default avatars for all users to use, however, up until now this feature has never been used. For the remainder of www.vmkmagic.com's life, we will display your avatar creations! Are you up for the challenge? It's simple!
THE CREATION
You should create a graphic which can be used as a default avatar on VMKMagic for all users to use! This avatar should:
- Be original. This must be your work. *Stolen work will not be accepted.
- Be Disney themed.
- Be a still picture, no animation please!
- Follow all VMKMagic Rules/Guidelines.
- Be creative! Skill level is not important, as long as you're creative.
Your avatar should not be animated, and must be 100x100 pixels. Below is an example of how big this is:
SUBMIT YOUR AVATAR!You can submit your avatar here. Please do not submit avatars in this thread. We are currently only allowing 1 submission per user.
All avatars need to be submitted before the end of the contest. The contest will begin on Sunday (August 17th), and run through Saturday (August 23rd). Avatars will not be added to this official database of avatars until the end of the competition.

Sadly, because of how the system works, we cannot credit your avatar on the official page. We will however create a list of accepted avatars. On this page, you will be credited.

Today I'd like to extend a huge congratulations to a few VMKMagic staff members, as they get promoted to higher positions! Many deserve the positions, but there are only so many open slots. Congratulations to BlueSorcerer, and ElementSun for their promotion to the Super Moderator position! And, congratulations to PirateSlick for his promotion to Administrator!
We wish them the best of luck in their new adventure at VMKMagic. For those wondering whether or not we'll be looking for some new staff members... the answer is yes! We're always on the lookout for some new additions to the team. That being said, remember that we hire on a "we come to you" basis. You can't apply, but you can improve your chances simply by following the rules!

August 16th, 2008 VMKMagic Incident Clarification
All the latest news concerning VMKMagic, and the recent events!
A thread created by Spacexalp was deleted earlier today in the VMKMagic Feedback & Concerns forum. In response to this, several members began to ask why these threads were deleted.
The deletion of this thread, and the threads created by several members, was an over reaction by the VMKMagic moderation team in an earnest effort to protect the site.
After review of this issue, it was determined that this was a misunderstanding. Spacexalp meant no harm to VMKMagic. Spacexalp has complete access to the site. He is on good terms with VMKMagic, and any inadvertent temporary restrictions have been removed. We apologize for any inconvenience that was caused this evening.
If you believe you have been banned for an innapropriate reason, please contact VMKMagic through the contact us.

After three wonderful years working here at VMKMagic has been an incredible experience. I'm glad to have worked here with you guys, to share the memories, and to make so many friends. I'm glad that all of you have been in my life and I wish for you to keep in touch. After many long thoughts about this subject and with college preparation approaching me quickly, I have decided to leave VMKMagic.

VMK Re-opening Discussion
Remember to be careful of where you post your threads!
Recently there has been a massive amount of "VMK Re-opening" speculation and threads. Please be advised that you are to place all threads of this nature in the Closing the Kingdom forum. Careless posting will result in punishment against your account, so make sure you are positive that you're in the right forum!
In addition, keep in mind that until the Disney company produces official documentation that the Virtual Magic Kingdom is reopening, all threads stating "Confirmation" or "Fact" are RUMORS and will be tagged as such. If you see a thread dealing with the same subject you want to discuss, please post in that thread and do not create another; this is just creating SPAM that needs to be cleaned up later.
All in all, remember to watch where you put your threads, and refrain from creating multiple threads on the same subject. New creations are spam, and create a cluttered forum environment. With a little diligence, we can fix this!
