Posting on VMKMagic
Posting on VMKMagic enables you to Unleash the Magic of Disney and VMK in a family-friendly community where you can communicate with Players from Around the Game and much more. To allow your safety here at VMKMagic, we have Moderators that are the Staff Members. We ask that you post your thread in the correct forum which the topic of the thread is about. Moderators will move topics if they are not in the appropriate forum. At VMKMagic we have certain rules that must be followed around the Forums. Below is the Official VMKMagic Forum Rules and Values.
G-Rated
VMKMagic is a family friendly site; therefore all topics, comments, concerns, posts, and threads must be G-Rated. Basically, the way to determine if the Topic is G-Rated or not is to ask yourself…would this ever occur in a Disney movie?
Inappropriate Adult-Rated Material, Extreme Violence, Drugs and Alcohol, & Profanity are all examples of Un-G-Rated Material. Any Pictures, Links, Comments, or Video are not permitted if they are not G-Rated. Additionally, any talk of VMK Subjects relating to "Taken", "Boy Friend, Girl Friend" rooms, etc., should not be discussed on the VMKMagic forums.
Flaming/Stereotyping
Flaming is an act which directly or indirectly criticizes a user in a way that could injure the user mentally, or emotionally. Flaming can really hurt a person and is not allowed at this site. In additional note flaming is not accepted even if it is to a "thing", (e.g. Another Site). Anyone to flame another site will be banned for a short time immediately. Stereotyping is an act which picks out different groups/trends/clans/race and is majority of the time is insulting. We do not allow flaming/stereotyping at this site, and violators will be punished severely.
Harassment
Harassing another member or moderator is not permitted. Harassment will not be tolerated and bans will be placed. If another member is harassing you, simply Private Message a Moderator and they will assist you.
Thread Hijacking
The act of taking over someone else's thread, particularly in the trading forum, is outlawed in every forum on the VMKMagic forums.
Personal Information
Here at VMKMagic, we try our best to keep every member safe from others, therefore any personal information is not allowed. Personal Information that is not allowed consists of, personal pictures, names, age, etc. All posts consisting of any of this are not allowed and are strictly prohibited. You are as well not supposed to create meeting points at some real life place with other players, it's dangerous and we wouldn't like anyone to be harmed. All thread/posts will be changed/deleted. Anyhow, there are exceptions to this rule. If you are a member of an Age Usergroup (mostly for Usergroup of Teens and Club 33), and there are rules in the respective forums allowing you to reveal some kind of information, you will be allowed to reveal it, but just in the limits of that Usergroup, not outside it.
Illness and "Pity Parties"
Talking of illnesses on VMKMagic has certain limits involved. Those who post about their illness may only post providing the sole intention of the post is for support of your fellow VMK'ers. Any postings of your illness that in any way ask for favoritism, extra items, or anything other than support will result in the post being deleted -- and your account suspended from the forums.
Additionally, those who respond to these illness posts with anything other than support for the original poster, will have violated this rule.
Advertising
Advertising and making VMKMagic your own person advertising site is strictly prohibited.. This is links to your site, or a personal information places. Any links will be deleted, and as you may know this is strongly prohibited. This includes private messaging other users giving links to your own site. Do not make VMKMagic your personal Advertising Spot.
Spamming
Spamming is the act of creating multiple or useless threads, topics, words, posts, smilies, etc. Spamming is not tolerated ANYWHERE on VMKMagic and when it is found/reported, it will be deleted and the User will be infracted. So many Spamming Infractions will turn into a ban.
The VMK Values
VMKMagic, being a fansite of The Virtual Magic Kingdom, follows all of VMK's Values. All users who break those VMK Values in any area of www.vmkmagic.com, will be properly punished. For more information on VMK's Values, please look at www.vmk.com. VMKMagic does not own, and did not produce the VMK Values. VMKMagic is completely seperate from VMK, and holds no ownership over any section of VMK.
Bumping a Thread
(BUMP= Bring Up My Post) - This is a common practice on many forums. If you were the last one to post, you must wait 24 hours to bump the thread and post again. You may only bump your own threads, and other users may not bump your threads.
Multiple/Double Posting
Multiple Posting is not allowed here on VMKMagic. The only time we allow double posting is every 24 hours when Bumping a Thread. Multiple Posting is considered spam and the same consequences will be placed if you are Multiple Posting.
Favoritism
Favoritism of a Player, Moderator, Group of Players, VMK Staff Members, and Guests is not allowed. Favoritism usually leads to negative behavior and flaming which is not permitted at VMKMagic. Anyone expressing Favoritism will be severely punished. Do not get caught Stereotyping Favorites.
Impersonation of Others
Impersonation of any player, VMKMagic member, VMK Member, VMK Staff Member, Celebrity, or anyone other then yourself is not permitted here at VMKMagic. Impersonator’s accounts will be permanently banned from VMKMagic.
Multiple/Sharing Accounts
You are allowed one account to use on VMKMagic. Multiple accounts are not allowed, and they will be deleted if we find them. Other family members are allowed another account in your household, and we highly disagree with sharing accounts.
Begging
Do not request for free stuff either on VMK or real life. If this happens, a ban might be the penalty for breaking this rule. This is also applied to those who request to be helped to reach a certain goal by obtaining donations. However, volunteer donations are allowed, you can't ask for them, but if players volunteer to give you stuff for free, you are perfectly allowed to accept the offer. Likewise, you may not make threads requesting for, or begging for nomination in events, contests, etc. This includes, but is not limited to VMK guest rooms awards.
Plagiarism
The full copying of articles, mostly when the content has been written from someone coming from another VMK Forums/Boards/Web Site is to be prohibited from VMK Magic. This also applies to the "stealing" of pictures, videos, music files, etc. not owned, or hosted by yourself in your own account at any holster you host files at. This means that to be able to reproduce any of the mentioned files, you will have to host it in your own holster and must differ from what already posted on another sites. If you are using information/pictures/others from VMK Magic, you must include a link to VMK Magic, explaining the information/picture/others has been grabbed from this site, even if you are hosting the media in your own holster. Exceptions: VMK Newsletter Articles and Disneyland/WDW/HKDL, etc. extracted articles. You should cite your source when you grab an article from another site (but not post the URL, IE: "I got my article from VMK Magic" not "I got my article from http://www.vmkmagic.com), unless this article was created on another VMK Fan Site. In this case, you won't be even allowed to post it as it is, but remake it with your own words.
Backseat Moderating
Please do not at any times backseat moderate anywhere on VMKMagic. Your backseat moderating only creates spam, which then needs to be cleaned up. If you see something that is not allowed on VMKMagic, please simply report it.
The VMKMagic Feedback Forum
The VMKMagic Feedback forum, "VMKMagic Feedback and Concerns", is a forum dedicated to helping you with technical difficulties, and answering questions concerning site functionality. Its subforums, "Spacexalp - Forums/Moderator & Event Issues, DrKermit - Chat & Arcade Issues, cptnruthless - Userpages, & Radio Issues", also follow the same rules. If you have a question such as "How can I make my userpage have a black background", or "How can I be a moderator", please do not post it in the support forums. All posts that are off topic, and posted in that forum, will be removed and your account infracted.
Chain Letters
Spreading generalized messages for the sake of just reproducing the message endlessly is strictly prohibited from VMK Magic and it's a good cause for a suspension. These kinds of messages are usually made up from a curse that could happen to you if you do not send the message to X amount of people. If you are told to send the same exact message to an X amount of people, please do not do so and report the person who is asking you to do so, so that a proper suspension action is taken.
The Trades Forum
All posts in the trades forum of VMKMagic are to be either offering on the given item, or giving an item to another persons offer (depending on whether or not the thread started is trading something, or selling something). Any posts containing, "nice offer!", or "that offer stinks..", will be removed, and your account infracted. You may not accept donations, and you can not give donations to others offers. No polls are allowed in the trade forums, as they trigger opinions on offers, which are against the rules.
VMKMagic Signatures
A signature must be no bigger than 500 x 250. A big signature causes forum clutter and makes the pages look disorganized. The suitable signature size is the set rule that you must follow in order to have a signature. The image below is exactly 500 x 250.
This means that your entire signature (including words) must fit in that box. You can not have multiple signatures with that size of image. You can not go bigger than the image. Everything must fit, this goes for height and width. If you want to know how big your signature is, right click on the image and click properties and then it will tell you how big the image is in pixels. If the image is smaller or equal to 500 x 250, you're good. But remember that you can not have that image PLUS another small one.
NOTE: All moderators and admins reserve the right to remove any signature, without warning, that is over the set limits.
Utilities
Utilities are not allowed on VMKMagic for safety reasons. The Virtual Magic Kingdom does not allow the use of utilities. Because we are a fansite of VMK, we will resect their rules and wishes. If you are found to be sharing a personal utility with anyone, consequences will be put into place. These utility restrictions apply on all pages of www.vmkmagic.com.
The discussion of VMKPal is permitted.
Political/Religious Beliefs
Any post / thread/ signature with political and religious beliefs in them, will most likely lead to arguments. You are allowed to wish others "Happy X Celebration" with a peaceful ending. Any post questioning the religion itself will be deleted and probably will come along with a warning, but informing/wishing/telling others about certain celebrations is allowed. To sum up, you are not allowed to question a religion/celebration/belief, or to discuss a religion/belief, but you are allowed to post on special religious celebrations as long as the ending is aimed at not harming.
The VMKMagic Chat
The VMKMagic chat rules are the same as, but are not limited to, the VMKMagic forum rules, listed above. Some additional rules include:
- Sound spamming: Sound spamming is the act of playing one, or a few sounds over and over in a quick period of time.
- Colored,Bold, and Italic Fonts: Members of the vmkmagic.com forums are not permitted to use bold, italic, white, or any light font colors in VMKMagic's chat at any time.
- Moderators: Anyone with a green name is considered a VMKMagic staff member, and is to be treated as one.
- Rooms: The act of creating a new room is not permitted in VMKMagic's chat.
The VMKMagic Userpages
VMKMagic does not allow any third party programs, flash applications, and web links that enable any type of chat function that is not able to be monitored by VMKMagic Staff. This does include, but is not limited to flash drawing boards, flash chats, and other features that may lead to inappropriate content. Scripts, or excessive use of pop-up windows is not permitted. Please keep userpage HTML clean and organized to maintain a fully functional page.
All VMKMagic Rules and Values are to be followed at all times. Consequences will be placed depending on how badly a rule(s) is violated. Consequences range from a Warning, to a Permanent ban from VMKMagic.com
